WSNSW — SOME FUTURE WAGNER SOCIETY EVENT POSTPONEMENTS

— Sunday 29 August 2021: Ariadne’s Thread, a recital of German Romantic Music with Pam Andrews, Jill Sullivan and pianist Mikey Curtain at St Columba Community Centre

Unfortunately due to the Sydney Covid-19 lockdown currently until 28 August, this scheduled event has had to be postponed. We will advise when we have a new date.

— 15 – 17 October 2021: Brangayne at Orange wine tour

This event will be rescheduled to a date in 2022.

Our zoom event was greatly enjoyed by many members and friends, with about 30 screens registered and a number of e-books purchased. Details to come soon in the September Quarterly.

 

WSNSW — ARE YOU GOING TO THE BRISBANE RING OCTOBER – NOVEMBER 2021?

CYCLE 1: 29 October – 4 November  / CYCLE 2: 6 – 12 November  /  CYCLE 3: 14 – 20 November

We encourage members who will be attending the Brisbane Ring to let us know by replying to this email which cycle you are attending.   All the Wagner Societies from Australia and New Zealand will be present in Brisbane and this will provide an opportunity for us to meet.  It is hoped that we can arrange dinner/drinks/coffee in each of the three cycles for members.

WSNSW — APPEAL FOR DONATIONS FOR TWO MORE WAGNER TUBAS FOR THE MELBOURNE OPERA 

As members are aware, the Wagner Society in NSW donated two Wagner tubas to the Melbourne Opera for this year’s production of ‘Das Rheingold’. One is pictured below.

We would love to donate two more Wagner tubas to Melbourne Opera. Your donations would be greatly appreciated; they are tax deductible and will be given on everyone’s behalf.
