Death in Venice

Richard Wagner’s death in the Palazzo Vendramin (Ca’ Vendramin Calergi) in Venice on 13 February 1883 made world news. A group of Society members, led by Warwick Cooper, have organised a presentation based on the world’s reaction to Wagner’s death, from newspaper reports, poems, letters, in visuals and music.

This was originally planned to be given around the actual date, but unfortunately couldn’t be organised until May. It will now be presented on the afternoon of 29 May in the Theatre at Living Choice Fullarton. The theatre has limited seating, so please let us know if you intend to come. Masks may be required.
